CREATING A SACRED SPACE SANCTUARY FOR MEDITATION
Ladies, this is your time for YOU …
When was the last time you did something just for you?
If you're too busy or stressed or you don’t feel you are
deserving of joy, fun, relaxation, rest or pleasure, then your
self-care begins to suffer and you start to neglect yourself.
Meditation is next-level self-care
But the moment you commit to making your self-care a
priority, you’re telling the Universe (and even yourself)
that you love yourself and believe you deserve to live a
beautiful, amazing life that you also love – because YOU DO!
It is a radical act of love just to sit down and be quiet for a time by yourself - Jon Kabat Zinn
The time is passing so quickly. Think about it, right now, right in this moment…you are the youngest you will ever be again! Ever!! And if you still haven't made your own self-care a priority in your life yet, then when do you honestly think you will? So how about starting now?
So many women today can experience tremendous benefits from practicing real self-care and I don't know any self-care practice that does this
faster, easier or better than getting quiet to reconnect with your deepest self in meditation. Studies show that meditating regularly can result in significant improvement in your mood, in your ability to handle challenges and stress and even help you to be more focused and productive,
so you can perform at the top of your game, which can make a big difference in any busy life!
Self Care + Self Awareness = Self Love

HOW TO CREATE A SACRED SPACE SANCTUARY Meditation is not to escape from society, but to come back to ourselves and see what is going on. - Thich Nhat Hanh Making Space means Making Space for YOU! Setting the space for meditation helps to give you the mental break between your meditation session and the rest of your day. It also allows you to create space for you! If your intention is to create a life that promotes greater balance, harmony, happiness and true inner peace, then you need to make time to reconnect with your inner-self. Creating space for this intimate connection allows us to go within and listen as our own innate wisdom and guidance comes through. This also involves some disconnecting and stepping away from your regular day-to-day busy life for a little while, and pausing and setting aside some quality time to revitalize and pamper yourself. I recommend all women do their best to start their day and therefore set the tone for their day, with meditation. Create a morning routine for yourself around your meditation practice and do it because routines create safety and a sense of continuity and control, great things to have in this chaotic world we live in. Think of it like a domino, the first domino determines what happens to all the dominos after it. So too, with meditation; making meditation be your first choice and act of the day has a profound and positive effect on all the rest of the acts and decisions you make that day. A life well lived is made up of lots of little things, done well. So before you begin your meditation, honor yourself by spending time preparing a physical Sacred Space that is private, quiet and serene and where you will not be disturbed. It involves all of your senses and may include having a somewhat darkened room. Having your own Sacred Space Sanctuary means an inviting, calming, serene and safe place to retreat to. And when your Sacred Space Sanctuary looks and feels like one, it just naturally encourages meditation. By doing this, you are signaling to the Universe that you are ready to transform your environment, your living space and even your life itself, into a truly Sacred Space. Your Sanctuary can also be as elaborate as an entire room in your home you have set aside just for the purpose of creating the time to connect with yourself. Use your imagination. Play and have fun with this! To get the full benefits of meditating, I want women to have a lovely, relaxing spa-like experience while they’re doing their meditation practice, whether they're alone or in session with me. Before you begin your meditation, honor yourself by spending time preparing a physical Sacred Space. Create an environment for yourself that is private, cozy, soothing, peaceful, quiet and free from outside distractions and where you will not be disturbed. Is any of this necessary in order to meditate or to do Busy Woman's Meditation? No, absolutely not, it's all up to you. Doing the Busy Woman's Meditation does not require any props (unless you want to use them). All of this is totally optional and purely voluntary. There is no need for any apps, music, crystals or anything else in order to do the meditations I'm going to share with you, if you are my client and take my program. The only thing you really need to do is take a few minutes to unplug and turn inward. All the rest that is included here is simply offered to support your meditation experience and to help you to feel pampered and special. If you like relaxing music playing, softly when you meditate or guided meditations, you can go to the Music tab of YouTube for the free, relaxing Cozy Coffee Shop or the Sound Bath music sections, you'll be so glad you found them! When you do, for best results, use good quality earbuds or a headset, and to eliminate noise, earplugs are definitely recommended. If you are into using brainwave entrainment technology or to help you focus when working, you may want to investigate brainfm. Using Earbuds (Panasonic $10), headset (Plantronic stereo headset $32), and earplugs (Hearo’s disposable brand $11) are helpful and recommended, but not required for meditating. (And for those of you who really can’t stand silence while you’re working or studying at home, there’s an app for that. Coffitivity, gives you "coffee shop chatter" in the background of your work day. The premise behind Coffitivity is that for some people, being a tiny bit distracted gets your creative juices flowing, so check it out if that interests you.) You’ll need a comfortable chair to sit on or a meditation cushion , a Zafu or any beautiful, large pillows or cushions (and sitting on a pillow on the floor in front of your sofa with your back supported by the sofa is a perfect place to meditate). Your Sacred Space Sanctuary can be something as simple as a yoga mat placed on the floor, or sitting in front of a window and lighting a candle, or setting aside a corner of your bedroom, or even a closet. For those of you who do yoga, I recommend you meditate in your favorite restorative yoga pose. For example; "Legs Up the Wall" is deeply relaxing and an excellent one to do. Surround your Sacred Space with meaningful items. Some suggestions are; incense, candles, flowers, your favorite crystals, salt lamp or salt candle holder, essential oils, an essential oil diffuser, your journal to write your thoughts in, a stop watch or your phone, turned to airplane mode and some water to stay hydrated and to keep the energy moving. You may want figures or statues of Ascended Masters, deities, Buddha, or angels, pictures of loved ones who are here or who have passed on, or whomever and whatever else adds to the experience and will help to make you to feel relaxed, happy and loved. BTW: be sue to wear comfortable clothing when meditating as wearing tight clothes can make you feel too constricted when you’re trying to relax your body and your mind. It's also a good habit to set your intention for your meditation practice. I do ask that all of my clients make it a habit to use this intention, below, before meditating and they are welcome to add any other intention of their choosing to that, too; This is my time to meditate. This is my time for me. Then, no matter how long you meditate for, end each and every meditation with a “thank you” to yourself, for giving yourself a few minutes of stillness in your busy day and for taking some time just for you! Thank you Lynn for the blessing of making such a difference in my life, and sharing your most precious gift and doing it with so much love. - Angali, Psychic and Radio Show Host |
